2008 National Specialty
Work is well under way for the
2008 National. Drop-dead date for the Premium List with Onofrio is
12/27/07. I don’t know about your holiday week but mine is too busy to
allow for sanity. We actually have three shows this year between Christmas
and New Years!
Therefore I
have requested a date of December 1, 2007 for P.L. materials to me. It is
not too late to volunteer to join a committee or sign up to help somewhere.
Especially needed are ring stewards for both sweeps and breed classes
(should not have a dog entered under the judge you steward for) Someone to
sell catalogs either or both days and someone to mark pre-sold catalogs. It
would be nice if that person would under take the mailing of same, but that
is open
Help with
publicity and hospitality would be nice as well. We want to have
hospitality for our exhibitors on Thursday and Friday this year. This is
the National Showcase for our breed. The MinPin national will also be at
the Biltmore with us this year and we don’t want them to make us look second
rate!
Any ideas
that are forwarded will be considered, so again don’t be shy. When I took
on this job, I knew no one except a few Northern California people. Now I
have lots of folks, I can call friends-so join the fun, come work your tail
off and find a whole new way to make friends and appreciate a dog shows!
Important reminder:
Make you’re room reservations early especially if you have specific
requests. Since the MinPin National will be there with us this year as well
as some other so space may be a premium. Please be sure to mention the Toy
Dog Specialty Shows to receive the discount room price of $69.00.
We will be doing board meeting,
a brief seminar, sweeps and annual meeting on Thursday May 15th.
Friday will be Judge’s Ed and breed judging followed by the annual awards
night. Saturday and Sunday will be the Central Oklahoma Toy Dog Shows.
Our judges are Keith Bates for
sweeps and Toddie Clark for breed and showmanship. We will not be raising
rates over last year. That’s $25.00 for 1st entries and $18.00
for additional entries, sweeps and multiple entry classes.
